Worker reviews WHSC health and safety posters on the right to know, right to participate and right to refuse unsafe work

Legal rights and duties are best learned through quality training. But reminders posted in your workplace and/or community can help. In addition to a wide range of comprehensive training programs, the Workers Health & Safety Centre provides information resources in a variety of formats, including three popular posters providing workers with a basic awareness of their three health and safety rights:

  1. The right to know about workplace hazards and proper control measures
  2. The right to participate in workplace health and safety matters
  3. The right to refuse unsafe work.

The purpose of GHS is to standardize chemical hazard classification and communication on a global scale. During the transition period that ends December 1, 2018, if both systems are used in your workplace be sure to post the new Your Right to Know Globally-Harmonized WHMIS poster and the original Your Right to Know Your Health poster.
