1. What is a Record of Training (ROT) card?
Your ROT card is a secure, digital record of all WHSC training you’ve completed. It replaces paper certificates and multiple, plastic ROT cards and keeps all your training in one place.
2. Is my ROT card official and recognized by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development?
Yes. Your ROT card is accepted by the Ministry and issued by WHSC—the only government-designated health and safety training centre in Ontario.
3. How do I access my training records with the card?
Simply scan the QR code on your card with your phone, tablet, or computer. You’ll be taken directly to your full training record.
4. What if I can’t scan the QR code?
No problem. Visit
whsc.on.ca/rot and enter your member ID and last name to securely access your training record.
5. Will I still get paper certificates or multiple plastic ROT cards?
Your digital ROT card serves as your official record. Because it’s secure, up-to-date, and recognized by the Ministry of Labour, a paper certificate or multiple, plastic ROT cards are no longer required.
6. Can my employer verify my training through this card?
Yes. You can share the QR code on your card with employers and inspectors so they can instantly verify your certifications. Or, you can supply them with your member ID, last name and web address for ROT access (
whsc.on.ca/rot).
7. How will I know when my certifications are about to expire?
The status of your certifications is included in your digital record of training. You’ll also receive automatic expiry notifications, so you’ll never miss a deadline to renew.
8. What happens if I lose my ROT card?
You can still access your training records online using your member ID and last name. Contact WHSC if you need a replacement card.
9. Is my ROT card safe?
Yes. Access to your ROT card requires the provision of both your member ID and your last name.
10. Can I print my training records if needed?
Yes. Once you access your digital training record online, you can print it if required.
