Workers Health & Safety Centre

Protect against chemical hazards. WHSC has training for that.

Is your workplace complying with occupational exposure limits (OELs) for chemical hazards and meeting extensive WHMIS obligations? You might want to inquire now!

Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) is undertaking a compliance campaign looking into this very question. More specifically, the Ministry is currently visiting workplaces to ensure workers are not exposed to hazardous substances exceeding OELs and are adequately protected. They will also determine if retraining on WHMIS is required. This relates to Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR) amendments that must be complied with by December 14, 2025, including new requirements on safety data sheets (SDSs) and product labels.

To support workplaces seeking to better protect workers from chemical hazards, comply with legislative obligations, and avoid Ministry orders, Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC) is making related training more affordable than ever.
