Travelling to an offsite location may be a challenge for some seeking to prioritize their health and safety training needs. WHSC virtual classrooms bring training to you.

To aid and encourage access, Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC) has expanded the scheduling of occupational health and safety programs throughout the summer in our virtual classrooms. Many of these programs meet and even exceed legal training requirements. Training for joint health and safety committee certification, WHMIS, workplace violence and harassment, and supervisor competency are just a few examples being offered.

Each program is accessible from your workplace or anywhere else with a high-speed internet connection. Participants will also need a computer or tablet with a functioning camera, microphone, and speaker.

Why WHSC training?

All WHSC programs build on the lived experiences of workplace parties who know firsthand uncontrolled hazards are responsible for worker suffering. Each program is designed to ensure workers, their representatives, supervisors and others are well-informed of their legal rights and obligations towards addressing these hazards, thereby protecting worker health and well-being.

Like our traditional in-person classroom sessions, our approach to virtual training is learner-centred. In both instances participants learn together in small, engaging groups in real time. And regardless of the training medium, classes are led by knowledgeable WHSC-qualified instructors to ensure training integrity and that learning is achieved. 

As such our virtual classrooms are the superior online training option, offering the supportive and effective learning environment that just isn’t available in asynchronous options offered by other providers.
